(Photo courtesy of Andrew Kizell)The Annual Rotary Brockville Youth Merit Awards were presented to six (6) local graduating secondary school students on June 1st, 2026 at the Brockville Legion. There was a large audience of family, friends, school representatives, and local Rotarians present to witness this Rotary Special Event.
The Awards are intended to recognize and celebrate the diverse contributions of all youth and schools are encouraged to select their candidates based on evidence of service and consistent demonstration of the following values and qualities:
Truthfulness - the candidate speaks and acts with honesty and integrity; takes responsibility for their actions and encourages others to do the same.
Fairness - the candidate treats all individuals with respect and equity; advocates for inclusion and ensures that all voices are heard.
Goodwill and Friendship - the candidate builds positive relationships with peers, staff, and the wider community; demonstrates kindness, empathy, and a spirit of cooperation.
Beneficial Actions - the candidate contributes to the well-being and success of others; seeks to make a lasting, positive impact on the school and community.
